MASTER AGENDA AND SHUTTLE SCHEDULE
This schedule is based on what you told us in your RSVP. Please check to ensure you'd still like to do the things you indicated. If you have any changes, please send Christina an email or text one of us.
Burke Mountain has something for every level. If you're not accustomed to steep and icy, we recommend staying on the lower mountain, which has all green and green/blue slopes. An all-mountain pass is $65 and the upper mountain ranges from blue to double black. (Please talk to Adam for guidance on what to try for your skill and experience level.) You can rent skis, boards, boots and poles at the lower mountain lodge and if you need other gear, just check in with us. We have a lot that you can borrow! There's also a learning center with a magic carpet and a T-bar. Lessons are also available.
Here's Christina her first time trying Cross Country Skiing at Dashney Nordic Center. This place is exquisite with breathtaking views and clean, crisp air! And Cross Country is quite the workout. You'll be ready for some comfort food later and will be well-deserving of it! You can rent skis, boots and poles onsite on the weekends. If you want to go on Friday, let us know, as we have friends who have offered to let our guests borrow gear. A half-day pass is only $10!
The front desk has snowshoes in various sizes and gear (coats, pants, gloves, etc.) that we are leaving with them for you to borrow. Think of it like a snow-fun library. You can snowshoe on the trails in the woods around the hotel any time, or around the lift and on the slopes after 4pm. We like to snowshoe in the light of the moon!
Who wants to go on a sleigh ride? We'll take our shuttle vans over to the Rainbows Edge Farm on February 27 and let a true Vermonter show us how it's done.
Okay, if you do this, then we're super impressed! We don't know who these people are, but are pretty sure they are badass. If that's your vibe, you can rent a bike in nearby Littleton, VT at Littleton Bike & Fitness. Can't wait to hear your stories at the Apres Ski!
We have never done this, but figured you could check it out for us. Here's some verbiage from their website:
Made in Estonia and lovingly assembled in East Burke, this sweet little sauna sure knows how to warm up a winter afternoon! The sauna is 8 ft x 8 ft and comfortably fits four adults. There are two tiers of benches; given that heat rises, the upper bench tends to be significantly warmer than the lower bench. Two full walls of windows provide sweeping views of Dish Mill Brook.
The sauna is outfitted with a 10 KW Harvia heater, imported from Finland. 150 pounds of rock help absorb and retain heat. The rocks can be steamed (using the sauna's bucket and ladle), increasing the interior humidity - this is a great option if you really want to sweat!
We typically offer sauna sessions on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays (and often other days as well). Sessions are released two weeks in advance and openings vary week to week; please consult our booking calendar for accurate real-time availability.
